Washington, D.C., Office | Policy & Engagement
Decision-makers need relevant, credible science that is understandable and actionable to make critical choices about the future of our planet.
Woods representation in Washington, D.C., allows our faculty and scholars to play a greater role in providing this vital scientific research to policy- and decision-makers in government, nonprofits, think tanks and other organizations. The office is a primary vehicle for connecting our latest environmental findings to the policy community, enabling Woods to serve as an important resource.
Woods has now expanded its policy and engagement efforts at the state level, allowing us to connect pertinent research from our faculty and scholars to policy- and decision-makers located in Sacramento and across California. We've also added a Sacramento mini-boot camp as part of the Rising Environmental Leadership Program (RELP) to help inform participating graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of ongoing science and policy issues of interest as well as introduce them to relevant opportunities available at the sub-national level.
