Tannis Thorlakson

Tannis Thorlakson is a PhD student in the Emmett Interdisciplinary Environment and Resources program at Stanford University. She is interested in the private sector's role in improving social and environmental outcomes in agricultural supply chains. Tannis current work focuses on the role food retail firms can play in influencing environmental management practices at the farm level.

After receiving her BA in Environmental Science and Public Policy from Harvard University, Tannis worked as an Investment Analyst at an impact-investing firm focused on sustainable agriculture and forestry. She has also spent time doing field research with smallholder farmers in Kenya, consulting on social and environmental issues for a large-scale Argentinian soybean firm and for the agriculture technology non-profit Digital Green.
