Alejandra Echeverri

Alejandra is a postdoctoral scholar with the Natural Capital Project at Stanford University working under the supervision of professor Gretchen Daily. She researches ways to better integrate biodiversity and ecosystem services into national development policies of Colombia and Costa Rica.

Alejandra obtained her Ph.D. in Resources, Environment and Sustainabilty at the University of British Columbia, Canada, where she studied the social and ecological dimensions of bird conservation in Costa Rican agricultural and forested landscapes. Alejandra holds an M.Sc. in Resource Management and Environmental Studies from the University of British Columbia and a B.Sc. in Biology from Universidad de los Andes, Colombia. She is a National Geographic Young Explorer and represents global youth in the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity.
