As the Western U.S. faces another severe wildfre season, multiple outlets have quoted, interviewed and published comments from Stanford wildfire experts on topics from climate change, wildfire preparedness and human health impacts.

In a back-of-the-envelope calculationMarshall Burke and Sam Heft-Neal have estimated that between 1,200 and 3,000 people may have died prematurely due to exposure to wildfire smoke in California. Multiple media outlets have covered this calculation of indirect deaths among those over 65 and with pre-exisiting conditions.
