Polly Courtice, founding director of the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership has guided hundreds of corporations toward making responsible environmental decisions.

This accomplishment earned her the 2015 Stanford Bright Award, the $100,000 prize given annually to an unheralded individual who has made significant contributions to global sustainability. Woods co-sponsors the prize with the Stanford Law School, and Woods Senior Fellows Barton H. "Buzz" Thompson, Jr. and Deborah Sivas, both professors of law, sit on the award nomination committee.
