How can young environmental researchers chart a path to meaningful careers that maximize the impact of their work?

Recently, the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment brought together Master’s and early-stage doctoral students from all seven schools at Stanford for dialogue and collaboration on environmental science, policy and behavior research. The Young Environmental Scholars (YES) Conference explores different approaches to environmental research and the ways personal and academic world-views influence research questions and design. The event featured a keynote panel discussion on international environmental research, a workshop on the effective use of Op-Eds led by former Washington Post Jerusalem Bureau Chief and Middle East Correspondent Janine Zacharia, a condensed version of the d.school’s popular Research As Design series workshop, a research poster session and plenty of networking time.
