California’s Climate Action: Leadership from the States

California has implemented some of the toughest policies to curb GHG emissions in the country to confront climate change, recently extending until 2030 its landmark cap-and-trade program. In response to projections for future impacts, the state is also taking steps to adapt to a changing climate that will likely bring conditions for more frequent and severe droughts and wildfires. This event provided insights into California’s commitment to tackling climate change and protecting its natural environment. Panelists discussed the process for crafting and building support for the climate law and its impacts on industry as well as lessons to be drawn for similar efforts.
