Marc is interested in developing new approaches to collect, analyze and disseminate water resource information, and study their implications for the sustainable management of water systems. The tools that he develops are particularly relevant in developing regions worldwide, where field data are scarce. Marc's current research focuses on exploring potential linkages between remote sensing technologies and transboundary water allocation. Satellite data allow water resources to be monitored beyond political boundaries: Marc investigates the implications of this strategic information on the potential for water related conflicts in the Middle-East.
Marc received his Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley and his MSc. (Civil Engineering) and BSc. (Material Science) from EPFL in his native Switzerland.
