The Mel Lane Student Grants Program provides grants for student driven and managed environmental projects that make a measureable impact through action or applied academic research. Preference is given to projects that focus on environmental sustainability within one of the following topic areas: built environment, climate, food security and supply, natural capital, ocean and coasts, public health, sustainable development and water. Projects should involve Stanford students and provide an educational experience for students and the broader community. The Stanford Woods Institute has an annual budget of $20,000 for this program; typical grants are between $500 and $3,000. (Please note that this program does not fund dissertation research.)
Two rounds of funding are available for group projects on the environment. Deadlines are October, 2012 and February , 2013.
