Workshop Facilitator:  Caitlin Hogan
Caitlin is a fifth year Ph.D. student at the Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB).  Her research focuses on status, power, and influence.  She has led team-building workshops for Stanford MBA students, non-MBA Stanford graduate students, and staff at the Stanford GSB.

Workshop Description:
As a professor in academia, a scientist at a government agency, or an environmental leader in a non-profit, you will organize and facilitate new study projects and collaborations.  You will be asked to build conditions that harness the collective skills and knowledge of the individuals that you work with in order to solve complex problems.

This workshop is designed to introduce some key concepts and skills to help you take advantage and coordinate diverse perspectives inherent in interdisciplinary project groups.  You will be working in teams to organize and complete a project within a specified time.  You will be presented with a framework for looking at how you organized yourselves and discuss your team's process.  Finally you will review a case study on team design practice to explore and understand when to use the multiple options presented in this video case.

As a result of this workshop, you will become familiar with such skills as:

• Brainstorming for creative results
• Prototyping
• Group roles and facilitating self-organizing work groups

Who is invited to participate in this workshop?
20 graduate students and/or post-docs 

Is there a fee?
No, unless you register and do not show up.  We will ask you to pay a $50 no-show fee, which will be used to pay for future environmental leadership workshops.
