Air fare
Because funding is limited, we are grateful to those who are able to cover their all or part of their own travel expenses. We do, however, have limited travel funds available for workshop participants. For those participants needing air travel, please contact Mollie Field () who will put you in touch with Stanford's travel consultants. Flights booked through Stanford will be billed directly to the Program. If you need to book your flights independently, please contact Mollie in advance for reimbursement procedures and other details before booking your flights. Reimbursements for airfare will be made after the travel is completed.

Please be aware that we are only able to pay for the lowest priced round-trip coach fare available. While we would like to be able to accommodate all participants' preferred airlines, we have a limited travel budget and need to be cost-conscious. Any costs associated with upgrades or changes made for personal reasons after flights have been booked will be the responsibility of the traveler.

We would appreciate it if you could make flight arrangements no later than Monday, January 5, 2009. If you will be driving or arriving by other means, please let us know of your plans at your earliest convenience.

Accommodations
A block of rooms has been reserved for the evenings of January 25 and 26 at the Stanford Guest House. Please phone the guest house directly to make reservations at (650) 926-2800 and request the group reservation for the Global Water Resource group. The rate for the workshop is $94.00/night. Please phone to reserve your room before December 21, 2008.

Meals
All meals, beginning with a dinner reception on Sunday, January 25 and ending with lunch on Tuesday, January 27 will be provided by the workshop. Be sure to let Mollie know if you have any special meal requirements.

Transportation
Transportation will be provided each day to/from the Stanford Guest House to the meeting site and special event venues.

Stanford is roughly equidistant from San Jose and San Francisco airports. Sam Trans' Route KX might be the cheapest way to get to and from San Francisco International Airport. That bus stops in front of the Stanford Shopping Center on El Camino Real. The Stanford shuttle, called Marguerite, connects there. Caltrain and BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) connect at the Millbrae station and for an additional fee; there are BART trains that run directly to the airport. More information about public transportation from the Oakland, San Jose and San Francisco airports is available through the transit info website (see below).

A number of private companies also provide shuttle transportation from the San Francisco and San Jose airports, and taxis serve the Stanford campus from both locations.

For additional questions or trip planning assistance, please call the Bay Area Transit Information Hotline by dialing 511 from within the San Francisco Bay Area or (510) 817-1717 from outside the San Francisco Bay Area.

Stanford Parking & Transportation Services (P&TS) is also available if you need assistance planning your trip. They can talk you through the best route to campus. Contact the P&TS office at (650) 723-9362 or email at
