This year's conference is entitled "From Vision to Action: Sparking Global Change." We will feature keynotes and panels discussing opportunities for "mainstreaming" clean energy solutions. "From Vision to Action" means going beyond supporting the idea of clean and sustainable energy, which has become widely accepted worldwide. To move the secure and sustainable energy movement forward, we need to focus on turning our ideas into action, results, and progress. We are looking to find ways to empower our community and turn the "clean energy movement" into an "energy standard." In his keynote address at the inaugural Energy Crossroads conference Thomas Friedman told us that "Green has gone Main Street," but that it has yet to actually "go down Main Street." What will it take for green to go down mainstreet?
Featured speakers include the CEO of the Alliance for Climate Protection, Cathy Zoi; co-author of the award-winning Break Through, Michael Shellenberger; and representatives from Shell, the National Science Foundation, Walt Disney Imagineering, Climos, Electric Power Research Institute, Kleiner Perkins, the Prince of Morocco, the US-China Cooperation on Clean Energy, Climate Central, and Stanford University.

The 2008 Behavior, Energy and Climate Change Conference is the second annual conference focused on understanding the nature of individual and organizational behavior and decision making and using that knowledge to accelerate our transition to an energy-efficient and low carbon economy.
The 2008 BECC Conference will bring together a diverse group of policymakers, social scientists, program implementers, media, and energy experts to explore the practical application of social and behavioral insights to address our climate challenges. We will review recent behavioral research, discuss current and emerging policy issues, share effective program/communication strategies, and encourage collaboration across government, utility, business, and research sectors. Our goal is to achieve viable solutions for meeting long-term energy and greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets by improving the design, adoption, and continued effectiveness of policies, programs, technologies, and individual/organizational actions.
Conference will be held in Sacramento, CA
