Woods and Precourt host Newsweek forum on energy and technology
On May 29, 2008, the Woods Institute for the Environment and the Precourt Institute for Energy Efficiency hosted a Newsweek executive forum titled, "Energy's Future Is in Technology," at Stanford’s Jerry Yang & Akiko Yamazaki Environment & Energy Building. The panel discussion focused on innovation in supply, efficiency and alternative/renewable energy. David Jefferson, Newsweek’s senior business and technology editor, moderated the discussion with panelists Andrew Murr, Newsweek Los Angeles bureau chief; Jackalyne Pfannenstiel, chair of the California Energy Commission; Paul Siegele, Chevron’s vice president of strategic planning; Trae Vassallo, partner with Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers; and David Victor, Stanford law professor and director of the Program on Energy & Sustainable Development. Woods Director Jeff Koseff and Precourt Director Jim Sweeney gave opening and closing remarks.
