A symposium hosted jointly by the Woods Institute for the Environment and Bio-X focusing on how environmental change and human activity are altering evolution. The goal is to bring together speakers from different fields and parts of the University in order to bring this subject into the spotlight for our faculty, students and community.
Keynote Speaker: Vicki Chandler, Chief Program Officer, Science at Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation.
Diverse aspects of this theme from epidemiology to the oceans will be considered in 30 minute presentations by Stanford faculty, including Deborah Gordon, Gary Schoolnik, Eric Lambin and Barbara Block.
Closing remarks by Donald Kennedy will be followed by a Networking Reception and a Poster Session. The symposium will end with a BBQ on the Clark Center patio.

The Monterey Area Research Institutions' Network for Education (MARINE) is hosting a monthly seminar series focusing on "What should policy makers know about climate change and the oceans?" Each of the seven MARINE members will offer a session highlighting a particular research area followed by a discussion with the presenter on the policy implications. MARINE is a partnership between the Center for Ocean Solutions and seven Monterey Bay area academic institutions to enhance graduate marine education.
Open to Monterey Bay area and Stanford graduate students, postdocs and faculty.
